Betteena is a therapist working towards her Master’s in Psychology from California Southern University. Betteena received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside and has experience working in a dual diagnosis substance abuse program, as well as providing coaching for college students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Betteena believes people are a product of the personal, relational, societal, and economic forces that interact and impact their lives. She meets people where they are at, and tries to help in a way that is patient, supportive, and compatible with their needs. She does not see counseling as “one size fits all.” Each client has their own needs and wants which should be considered when in session.
As a first generation immigrant and woman of color, Betteena has her own unique set of experiences that she feels can help her connect with individuals from all walks of life. She is passionate about helping people from all backgrounds. Her goal is to create a safe, judgement-free space and assist others with making sustainable and meaningful changes that improve their quality of life.
In her free time, Betteena likes to spend time with her friends, bake, and take care of her many plants. Her ultimate goal is to become a licensed marriage and family therapist so she can continue to support others in a greater capacity.
